Dr. N.M. Veeraiyan
Founder & Chancellor, Saveetha Amaravati University
The architect of the Saveetha education empire, Dr. N.M. Veeraiyan, is a visionary educationist and proud alumnus of Madras Dental College. His journey began in 1977 with the establishment of a 100-bedded multi-specialty hospital and a School of Nursing for diploma courses in Erode.
In 1988, he founded the now-renowned Saveetha Dental College & Hospital, followed by the College of Nursing (1992), College of Physiotherapy (1993), and Saveetha Engineering College (2001). These institutions were granted deemed university status in 2005 under the title Saveetha University.
Never one to rest, Dr. Veeraiyan expanded his vision with the creation of Saveetha Medical College, Saveetha School of Law, and finally ventured beyond Tamil Nadu to establish Saveetha Amaravati University in Andhra Pradesh in 2005 — carrying forward his mission of excellence in education.
